BUTTON-UP

The next thing you do after closing the sale is what I call a “Button-Up.” Some people refer to this as a post-close. The purpose of it is to measure the solidity of the deal.

There are many different ways to do the button-up. For the most part, it can be handled with an envelope or a folder, and then you merely ask the customers pertinent questions to button up the deal. For example, you can ask: “Out of the many reasons that you chose to go ahead today, what were your top three?” Since you will be leaving shortly after, and they will have questions when you leave, you want to leave them a place where they can jot down their questions.
