Dogs can be downright determined in their quests for food—especially people food. They will charm you by sitting pretty, paw at you, or even dance to garner a morsel from your plate. How can you resist that slight drool and ever-so-subtle whimper as your dog begs for a piece of your burger or a few of your french fries?

Your dog will very quickly recognize that when people gather around the dining room table, lip-smacking goodies are available. Some food beggars can transform into food thugs and aggressively try to take food from you. Some eat so many high-fat foods that they become over-weight or obese and prone to diabetes, heart problems, arthritis, and other health issues. The next time your dog comes begging, treat him to a hug or an up-and-down-the-back massage instead. They’re calorie-free!
