We’re on course back to Jovian Space now, and not a moment too soon. Ever since we dug up that... whatever it was... things have been not great. My excitement before feels so stupid and childish now. Like I really thought for a moment we’d made some cool exciting discovery, but no, it’s just Qanta up to their usual shit.

Rosen has gone draconian on us. She’s blocked internal comms on the ship, she’s restricted our Interfaces and made us turn over all other devices, implemented a curfew... it’s almost like even the crew who didn’t see the damn thing know too much for comfort. She’s spending every other day locked up in the biohazard lab with the object to “document” it, whatever that means. The miners are always whispering to each other, I keep thinking I’m hearing something scurrying around in the vents but the maintenance guys just tell me it’s the filtration system working overtime from all the cigarettes we’ve been puffing. Or a rat.

I think I’ve got space sickness. Qanta says space sickness is a myth but I know it’s not, there’s no way it’s not. If those Atlantians ever existed and did make it to the stars, they must’ve been made of stronger stuff than us. We haven’t seen natural sunlight in two months and we’re all losing it. I’m tired all the time, I’m nauseous, I’m jumping at every little sound. The comms are supposed to be down but I swear someone has hijacked them because every now and then it goes static, like someone’s trying to use them.

It’s just the paranoia talking, I know that. But god, I want to go home.
