Chapter Eleven

The next day, Feral came for her in the kitchen. “Angel, Blood is about here with Willow.”

Meg smiled, grabbed a towel, and wiped her hands. “Really?”

“Yeah. Come on out.” He held out his hand.

She turned to the other women. “I can’t wait for you to meet her.”

“I’m excited,” Kristina said.

Feral pulled her out into the main room as the front door opened. She screamed and raced toward her friend.

They embraced like they hadn’t seen each other in years instead of days.

She was so glad to see her.

“I heard about what Nick did,” Meg said.

“Yeah, that fucker got away before I could get him. I had to stay and put pressure on Brad’s shoulder to stop or slow the bleeding from the wound.”

“God. What in the hell is wrong with him?” Meg asked.

“He’s psycho.”

Meg looked up at Feral when he came to stand beside her.

“Are you going to introduce me, angel?”

“Angel?” Willow asked in confusion.

“He thinks I look like an angel.”

Willow snorted. “Blood calls me princess.”

Meg covered her mouth when she started laughing. God, the last thing she ever thought they’d be called was an angel or princess.

“Hey, princess. I’ll bring your bags in and come find you later.”

Meg watched the exchange and couldn’t have been happier. If they thought she was a tough woman to be around, her friend was ten times worse, and Meg always worried that she’d never find a man strong enough to put up with it.

She grinned when Willow went off on him about where she was sleeping. She couldn’t believe this guy just stood there with a grin on his face. Everyone around them seemed to find the expression on Blood’s face shocking like they’d never seen it before.

Willow grabbed her arm and pulled her away from Feral.

“Let’s go before I kill the son of a bitch.”

Meg laughed. God, she loved this woman. “I want you to meet three women who live here. They’re amazing. I can’t wait for you to hear their stories.”

Meg introduced the women and then sat back and listened and laughed at the interchange between them as they all worked on dinner.

“How in the hell did you do this yourself?” Meg asked Kristina.

“I just did donuts in the morning and dinner at night. They had to get their lunches.”

“Jesus, even making dinner for forty-some people is huge.”

Kristina grinned. “It was. But now I’ve got you guys. Not only do I have help now, but you guys are awesome to be around. You make this so much fun. I look forward to cooking now.”

Meg smiled. She had to admit she’d never had this much fun in a kitchen before.

Dinner came and went. The women had the kitchen cleaned out and were outside with a beer or cans of pop, sitting around a bonfire talking. They pretty much ignored the few dozen men around them.

It was late when Sally went to bed, and then one by one, their men came for the rest of them until it was just her and Willow.

Meg screeched when Feral came up behind her, lifted her, sat, and put her in his lap.
