Securing paper wallets

We conclude our discussion by briefly considering the security measures necessary to protect paper wallets. As we said, paper wallets were introduced as an alternative to the digital archiving of private keys. The basic assumption is that paper wallets are, by definition, not subject to cyber attacks or malfunctions, as in the case of digital devices.

However, paper wallets are subject to all types of compromise typical of analogue documents (in the first place, the possibility of being lost, or deteriorating over time). In the same way, QR codes can also be subject to data leakage due to compromised digital acquisition tools, or websites that do not adequately preserve the confidentiality of user information.
