· Has to be more than a ‘one-off’ book on the basis that if a writer can’t think of how to extend it to a series then it will be even harder to extend it to 52 episodes

· The author/ illustrator need to embrace this extension and not every author or illustrator wants their book to go into another arena or wants it to be a licensed product. Some fear the loss of control, most don’t care about the money others are excited about writing TV scripts and taking their writing into a new genre.

· Will it work on TV? Fleabag Monkeyface is a boys’ property 7-10yrs in cartoon form featuring bogeys and unashamedly gross toilet humour which is a gift from an animation point of view and the characters are really strong. Children need to be able to relate to the characters without it being too much of a leap of faith. TV can take the character into other places eg with Fleabag Monkeyface they’ve used sweeping panoramic that can’t be used on the page.
