4: Festivities

They’d gotten comfortable - Dove and Isaac on the couch and Sage pulled close in an armchair - and they’d caught up on several of their favorite tv shows before Isaac decided it was time to know more.

Isaac looked long and hard at Sage. “Well. Sage,” he said low.

Sage grinned. “Isaac.”

“You didn’t invite me here to review tv shows.”

“Mmmmm, good segue,” she smiled.

“Let me tell you what I can do for you.”

Sage pulled her legs out from underneath her, put both feet flat on the floor, and leaned forward, clutching the cushion under her.

“I can still be your Santa," he said, "as was my original plan, and find a special gift to slide down your chimney.”

Sage ooh-ed and ahh-ed as he spoke.

“Or,” he continued, looking Dove’s way, “I can service top, perhaps as a team, for… say, a more sensory-oriented experience. We can negotiate that.”

Dove nodded noncommittally that time, along with Sage.

“I can be stone if you like -- I tend towards stone with strangers-”

“Me too,” Dove said, with quiet amusement.

“… but then, Sage, you’re not a stranger.” Isaac gave a grin that he knew showed off his dimples. “There’s a lot I can offer you, is my moral of my Christmas story.”

“What do you want out of tonight?” Sage asked, picking her chin up and smiling, eyes bright.

Isaac sighed. “Your partner hit that same note several times.”

“It’s an important question,” she said. “It’s your Christmas Eve too.”

“I’m your Santa. I’m here to give you exactly what you want.”

“Santa’s got his own agenda, too.” Sage frowned with a thoughtful flourish. “Naughty, nice, et cetera. Does what he wants. He’s his own boss, isn’t he?”

She held his gaze, silent for a moment, and Isaac was surprised to feel himself blush.

“What can I do to please you?” Sage asked with a conspiratorial grin. “Is servicing going to hit all your hottest buttons, right here and now? I’m not entirely convinced it would.” Isaac took in the motion of Sage’s hand traveling down her blouse, her legs subtly opening wider. “What do you want?” she asked. He let himself finally think that what he wanted might matter.

“If I’m honest… I’m not sure I know.” If they didn’t have a script, then he didn’t have a script. Which wasn’t so much a problem as it was a lack of direction.

“Good place to start,” Dove said. “I’m not sure I know my answer, either. Talk it out.”

Isaac felt relaxed enough with both of them, he decided to open his mouth to see what came out. “You know… I tried to take a selfie earlier today. I took several. But picking one out to do something with…” He shrugged. “What feature should I highlight? What aesthetic should I reach for today? How did I want to present? Would my choice be for me? Or someone else? I wasn’t sure I even knew what I would define as being a better or worse image of me. Looking masculine, looking feminine, wondering what the hell the word 'androgynous' means as a physical descriptor.
