CHAPTER 5
Camilla awoke alone in the green woods where she’d made love to Scar. The planet’s suns were setting, just barely visible now above the horizon, but it didn’t bring relief from the heat as she would have hoped. It did darken the environment around her. Where the hell was Scar?
Looking around, she spotted him sitting nearby with his back against the trunk of a sturdy tree. His gaze was steady on her and the desire that lit up his dark eyes brought more heat, pooling low in her belly.
Camilla sat up, realized that she didn’t have anything on, and began to scramble around in search of her discarded uniform. Well, what was left of it anyway. 34
SCAR’S CONQUEST
“Do you have to do that?”
“Do what?” She found her discarded top and hastily pulled it on. “Get dressed? Yes, I do. I’d rather have something on to meet with my crew.”
He continued to watch her with a sly grin on his face as she crawled over a couple of feet to grab the bottom of her uniform and stood to finish dressing.
“I prefer you without all of that.”
“I’m sure you do.” But play time was over. Whatever had taken hold of her when she’d eaten the raw meat and then proceeded to let him fuck her brains out was gone now. Her hunger for everything physical seemed sated for the moment. Actually, she felt pretty good. Energy hummed through her limbs as she stretched, not minding that Scar watched her with a look on his face like he wanted to throw her down and do the nasty again.
He could try. She might even like that. First things first. She needed to find the remaining members of her crew and form a plan. The shuttle would need to be repaired or other transportation secured so they could return home. The mission was aborted as far as Camilla was concerned. Significant damage to the mission’s craft and loss of a crew member were each enough reason according to regulation to return home before a mission was complete. She’d lost two crew members, Lila and their android. Aside from that, the shuttle had to be smashed to hell after that crash. She hadn’t seen it the brief time she’d been conscious immediately following the emergency landing. 35
SCAR’S CONQUEST
“So, are you going to take me to my crew now?” It was hard to play the commander with him now that they’d gotten it on, but she had to do what she had to do. “Or are you going to just stare at me?”
His grin widened for just a moment before he slowly rose to his feet. Camilla watched every muscle flex, every movement of his body. The cloth covering his private parts was back in place, but now she knew very well what was beneath it. It was tempting to see if he wanted to go another round. Damn, he was fine. She could almost justify the fact that she’d just had unprotected sex with an unfamiliar race, he was that sexy.
