A winding uphill road. The valley still

deep in shadow. Sunlight

scales the mountain, reaches in

to towers, pinnacles—a city

transformed by daybreak and distance.

Larger than life, a human figure

backlit by the dazzle. Black and white,

but we see it as gold, we see it

as gold and silver.
