Returning to this long delay that the MA had imposed for Lucifer’s rebellion to play itself out—and the part played by the administration—requires some background.

Mein Host—in his careful reading of the Lucifer Rebellion as described in The Urantia Book by one of the Melchizedek Brothers—found he’d developed a deep sympathy and understanding for Lucifer and for many of the intentions expressed by the rebels. This shouldn’t be altogether surprising considering that he is himself an incarnate rebel angel. Yet back in 1981, when he was wrestling with the implications of Lucifer’s revolution, he was still consciously unaware of his own angelic heritage.

When he and Melinda arrived in Toronto to meet with their friends, he set out to introduce them to his thinking regarding Lucifer. This was radically different from the unforgiving opinions expressed by some of the angels in The Urantia Book. These were attitudes that Sandy—along with most readers of The Urantia Book at the time—had simply accepted without thinking any more deeply about it. My ward argued that when considered with an open mind and with forgiveness and mercy in the heart, the Lucifer Rebellion can be unpacked in a very different light.

Mein Host would later find out that he was by no means alone in this approach. He’d met a number of people who grappled with this same issue, which was so clearly annunciated in the Bible by Jesus Christ in the maxim “Love your enemies.”

It is interesting to consider that my ward would have been most likely to take the radical viewpoint of expressing love and forgiveness for Lucifer and the rebels—so different from the vindictive approach espoused by The Urantia Book and most of its readers—had he not faced the same issue in the Process, where the concept of loving your enemies was a central credo.

It was during the last session with the angels that this thorny issue was addressed by the angels. They also spoke to more items of general interest, but it is only the Lucifer Rebellion that concerns me here.

The angels who spoke through Edward were either companion angels or celestials of a more specific function. Mentoria is an example, as Angel of Education, or an Angel of the Future, like Karyariel. Yet all had been of Seraphic and Local Universe origin. These angels had become more like friends over the course of their discussions, but then the atmosphere entirely changed in the room.
