Joel 3:16: “The Lord roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth quake.”

Amos 1:2: “And he said: ‘The Lord roars from Zion and utters his voice from Jerusalem.’”

So it is natural for the “loud voice” of this angel who represents King Jesus to be “like a lion roaring,” and it also follows in 10:3 that “When he called out, the seven thunders sounded.”

Psalm 29:3: “The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, over many waters.”
