This is going to be a disaster.

I woke up early to make Sascha breakfast when I remembered that I should get her flowers and her favorite candy. I don’t know what sweets she prefers or much about her at all, I realize. I also don’t have any candy or chocolates in my house, or any flowers for that matter. I can fix the flower problem easily enough. My neighbors can probably spare some from their garden.

I don’t want to leave Sascha alone for very long, so I sprint next door to their flowerbed, rip out a few flowers and run back to my house. I’ll have to explain that to them later but if it makes Sascha smile, if it makes her give me another chance or stay here with me, then it will be worth it.

The pink and yellow flowers aren’t technically a bouquet, but they aren’t the kind you have to plant, either. They were already planted. I unplanted them. That’s pretty close, right?

By the time I get back, Sascha is up and I can hear her getting dressed. I set the flowers on my kitchen counter and dash over to the bedroom door, wanting to burst in while also knowing I should give her some privacy.

“Are you okay in there?” I say more harshly than I meant. I’m not used to being sweet or gentle with anyone. I bark orders and expect timely responses. I can’t be that way with my mate, especially when she’s so precious and I already fucked up with her.

“I’m fine,” she assures me, her light, airy voice washing over me and filling in little holes in my heart I didn’t even know were there. “I’ll be right--oh!”

I burst through the door, ready to fight off anything and everything that caused her pain. It takes me a second to comprehend what I’m looking at. I’d laugh at the fact that Sascha is wrestling her way out of the oversized t-shirt I leant her, but my breath catches in my throat when I see the scars on her torso. They are mostly healed, just a bit red and irritated, but it pains me all the same.

When the hem of the shirt lifts higher up her body, I have to bite back a groan. Her perfect little breasts are on display. They’re even better than I remember. My wolf growls and tries tearing his way out to get closer to his mate, which snaps me out of my lustful stupor.

“Let me help,” I say as I close the distance between us.

I lift the shirt up, revealing more of her lithe little body. I allow myself two seconds of shameless, lustful gawking before meeting her gaze.

“Thanks,” she murmurs. Sascha has the cutest blush, and she’s nibbling on her bottom lip nervously. For the first time, I notice freckles sprinkled over her nose and cheeks. It makes her look so sweet and innocent, which is in complete contrast to her sinful body. Jesus, she’s the whole fucking package.
