While this rain came

The mockingbird

Did not sing

And the crow did not fly.

It was

A steady rain

And becoming there reached

Into cosmic consciousness

Seeking

The rise of Truth

Into time present.

Although there was

A chill, a dreary dampness

To the wind

That sunk into bone

Hope painted

The grey of the sky

And the yellow

Of the daffodils

With the passion

Of the deep touch.

Then

Time and space

Triggered thought

As images

Of the close at hand

Led

To the awakening

Of the other.

Looking through the mirror

Of phenomenal reality

Hope found a trace

To Truth

As the possibility

Opened the unknown

And she built

A message

In a parabola of time

Depicting a lush valley

Of daffodils.

How

Heart filled

With the power of life

As her message

Defined the dimensions

Of self and the other.

When the rain

Eased up

A mocking bird

Advanced eternity’s entrance

In the stretch of the moment.
