“Run!” says Owlsy.

You are sprinting with the others across the concrete pad, away from the magical, addicting smoke. You stand at a distance and watch the kid. The opening in his hoodie is barely bigger than the pipe. Smoke comes pouring out of the hole like he’s some kind of alien machine.

“OK.” The kid takes the pipe and taps the ashes into his hand and blows them into the air. “All better. I’m a jolly old elf again.”

When you’re certain all the smoke has cleared, the four of you return.

“OK,” says the kid. “So I was thinking. About the backpack—I think you might be right.”

“Of course I’m right!” says Chad01.

“Not you—him.” He points to Owlsy. “About the expression. I think you’re right. I think it is ‘Finders keepers, losers weepers.’ I must’ve just forgotten. I’m always forgetting things. There’s a lot to forget, you know? Like, what were we even talking about?”

“MY BACKPACK! WHERE IS IT?”

“Oh,” says the kid. “Right. It’s behind the red door.”
