When I entered the clubhouse an hour later, it was packed. I made my way through the crowd, greeted some people here and there until I fought my way to the bar. Snowflake was sitting there, smiling at me. She had been in my office several times because she regularly needed medication. She was different from the other Alien Breed women. Due to a genetic defect, she was not only smaller than the others, she barely came up to my chin, she was also an albino. Her white hair and extremely light skin resulted in her name. She was beautiful, in her own way, delicate and ethereal. Since she had neither eyebrows nor eyelashes, a plastic surgeon had implanted them for her. Well, framed by these long lashes, her pale blue eyes were the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
âHi, Jessieâ, she said. âWill you join me?â
âHello Snowflakeâ, I greeted her. âYes, Iâd love to.â
I ordered myself a beer and sat down on the free stool next to her. We chatted for a while about my work and drank beer. I was already a bit buzzed already. Normally I didnât drink much alcohol and I hadnât eaten in a few hours.
At some point, Snowflake and I just sat there watching the people on the dance floor. I saw Diamond dancing close and provocatively with Speed. It was obvious where they were going to end up tonight.
âHi Docâ, I heard a voice next to me and I turned my head.
âLieutenant Greenâ, I said.
âI was wondering if you would dance with me.â
I smiled at the young lieutenant. He was about my age and had a nice smile and beautiful brown eyes. Not my type, but I had planned to have fun and prove that I didnât need Rage. So I put on a smile and nodded.
âWhy not?â I said. âSee you later, Snowflake.â
âHave funâ, she said and gave me a wink.
The lieutenant took my hand and led me to the dance floor. He turned out to be a good dancer. With ease he whirled me across the dance floor so that people soon made room to watch us. I had more fun than Iâve had in a long time and was all smiles. My smile froze when I was suddenly ripped from the Lieutenantâs arms and collided with a hard body.
âHey!â, Lieutenant Green said and stood up to Rage, who had pushed me behind him, and I realized with horror where this was going.
Not another fight!
âJessie is off-limits,â Rage growled warningly. âHave I made myself clear? I'm taking her home now. She had too much to drink and I wonât let some son of a bitch think he can take advantage of her!â
âSheâs a grown woman and doesnât need a babysitterâ, said Lieutenant Green. âNow fuck off!â
I grabbed Rageâs arm and forced myself between them.
âPleaseâ, I said. âNo pressure. Thank you for the dance, Lieutenant Greenâ, I said to the Lieutenant, then I turned to Rage. âIf you want to take
