When Spitfire started trying to wiggle out of Guru's grip, it wasn't because the tom was managing to tickle him. In fact, Spitfire wasn't even sure that he was ticklish. That hadn't been what had shocked the no-fur. It had been how he had asked.
Spitfire had never had anyone say "my no-fur" when referring to him. He was always a rental, something to be used once or twice and returned to his owner. Even Agent had never referred to his prize no-fur as "mine". There was something about that simple phrase that indicated a claim. It hinted at the greatest bond a tom could have with one of the furless Omegas. Innehavre. It was not something said lightly, even by the most callous of toms.
Neither Spitfire nor Guru had said the word Innehavre aloud, but Spitfire had thought it a few times. He knew that he was ready and willing to commit to a permanent bond with Guru. But he had also been certain that the tom would never ask for that. There was no way that a respectable tom like Guru - he was a celebrity life coach and fitness icon for the gods' sake - there was no way that he would want an unruly and well-used no-fur like Spitfire.
And yet, he had said "my no-fur".
Spitfire scrambled out of his grip and about halfway up the next staircase before he stopped and turned back to look at Guru. The big Blond-fur tom was looking up at him with his warm eyes lit up with play and Spitfire felt his heart flip over. His tom wanted him. The feelings of the Innehavre bond were real. They weren't the one-sided wishes of a no-fur who had nothing and no one.
Blinking away tears that he definitely didn't want Guru to see, Spitfire grinned at him. "You're going to have to catch me first, you big idiot." He pushed himself to his feet and rushed up the stairs to the next landing.
"Oh no, don't think it's gonna be that easy. But go ahead try and get away from me." Guru seemed content to let Spitfire get further up the stairs. "You will get your tickle punishment for being so adorable."
"Seriously?" Spitfire laughed. "You really are a fucking moron."
He tried to keep up the teasing, the play, but all the no-fur wanted to do was fling himself into his tom's arms and cry. No one had ever told him that finding his Innehavre was going to turn him into a mushy mess. He was feverish, dizzy, and maybe a little bit nauseous. That might be what they called butterflies in the stomach. It didn't feel like butterflies. His eyes kept watering and his breathing got hard if he looked at Guru for too long.
No one had ever mentioned that love would feel so much like having the flu.
"Smart enough to catch you." Guru moved slower as he took the stairs on all fours, "stalking" Spitfire. His smile was feral, much more dangerous than the tom usually appeared.
