After enjoying a quiet night to themselves at the command post, Captain Alden and Lieutenant Corrigan prepared for the arrival of the soldiers. They had been invited to join the Knights in their building for drinks, but the pair wished to catch up on all the sleep they had missed out on while they still could. Between them, Wyatt and Bo had to command forty soldiers; fifteen from both America and Britain, and the ten mercenaries, so they knew rest was going to be scarce for the foreseeable future.

Early the next morning, as the sun rose to the east, two large camouflage trucks appeared on the dusty horizon to the south and sped along the narrow dirt road leading up to the mine entrance. As they disembarked from their transportation, the thirty soldiers, each one of them dressed in varying shades of desert camouflage, were directed to the barracks by the Captain and Lieutenant. Some soldiers were sceptical about the unorthodox leadership arrangement, but after spending only a small amount of time with the officers, the idea grew on them. The officers were assured they had a reliable group of soldiers under their command, and in turn, the soldiers knew they could trust their commanding officers with anything.

Not knowing if and when an attack would come, the officers decided to get the group prepared quickly. As the soldiers were armed with only their pistols, the first port of call was the armoury. Wyatt almost grabbed an M-144 rifle, but decided on an A3 assault rifle instead. His previous experience had taught him that he was proficient in his assault rifle skills and wished to use every possible advantage at his disposal.

Bo scanned the weapon racks and practically ran to grab the lone F12 automatic shotgun in the corner. His face lit up as he spotted the weapon, which had only one visible difference from a standard shotgun in the form of a large drum magazine on its underside. He posed with the F12 like he was an action movie hero, generating laughs from both Wyatt and the rest of the platoon. He had hoped the soldiers would appreciate an officer that did not take himself too seriously, and he was right.

The soldiers had to squabble over the remaining weapons, just as the Captain had done in New Prussia. He realised it was an inefficient system, but through sheer luck, it had worked out well for him. Nevertheless, he was glad not to be a part of it anymore.

After several minutes, once the soldiers were ready, Wyatt and Bo led the group outside, where they met up with Akeem and the rest of the Knights. Everyone introduced themselves to one another, as the officers had done the night before, and once the soldiers knew each other, at least by face, they descended into the platinum mine.

The group traversed many slopes made from stone and dirt and gathered at the lowest point of the pit. From there Wyatt split the soldiers into three groups of ten, and Knight Ananda took each group on a tour of the mine.
