Make Your Own CSS Matcher

Let’s say that you want to do something that has the reputation to not exist: testing CSS. More precisely, you want to test your layout and the relative positions of Elements. For example, this can be handy to verify that the menu is on the left of the main content on desktop, and has a different position on mobile.

I find it rather difficult to understand how to build a matcher, so let’s get help from TypeScript.The function should return a MatcherReturnType or a Promise<MatcherReturnType> if async. You probably want to have an async function, as it will allow you to resolve Locators and either make an action or call methods to get data from them. That is why all the web-first assertions are asynchronous.
