The Hype of Smut

I know of the adage ‘Sex sells’

But, I don’t understand Why this is the case?

Erotica seems to dominate The literary landscape

And people are flocking to movie theatres To see a retelling of one of the most popular.

I get that it’s all a fantasy

An escape from one’s normal life However, I have to wonder

If some of the lines have blurred.

I know I shouldn’t judge

Because that would make me a hypocrite Since I, too, have written erotica

Under another persona.
