Leading

The use of Leading is one of the critical factors when judging the success of type in a project.

Too little Leading, and the type becomes awkward and difficult to read; it is too dense on the page and becomes off-putting. Too much Leading, and the type and the meaning it conveys can become disjointed and lacking cohesion, and the impact and meaning of the written content itself is lost or reduced.

Get it right, and it creates a pleasing, balanced and attractive reading environment, enhancing the content and inviting the viewer in to read. The importance of choosing a suitable Leading value in conjunction with an appropriate type size cannot be overstated.

Using keyboard shortcuts for Leading means that you have the ability at your fingertips to quickly create, fine-tune and edit settings quickly, easily and interactively.
