Letting out the anger and frustration through tears was a cathartic process. Having Jake say that about me really hit home the fact that I don’t deserve Oliver. He doesn’t need a glorified prostitute in his life. He deserves someone better, like a lawyer or a doctor. Someone that is as intelligent and beautiful as he is. Not someone like me, a good for nothing who came from a mostly shitty upbringing and chooses to sell himself for money. Knowing it in my heart doesn’t mean I can accept it. I want to be with Oliver for as long as he’ll have me. If it’s just for another two days, then I’ll have to live with that. It doesn’t stop me from hoping for longer though, maybe even forever.

I settle on the couch with Garrett and turn on the TV. I press the guide button and flip through the channels until we settle on something to watch. Oliver joins us with popcorn a few minutes later. One movie turns into two and then three. Garrett leaves halfway through the third one and I use the opportunity to scoot closer to Oliver, so we can cuddle.

I’m not sure when it happened but we must’ve fallen asleep because the sun is now streaming through the blinds and we’re still on the couch. I gently extricate myself from Oliver’s arms and head into the bathroom to relieve myself before starting breakfast. Thankfully, the cabin comes fully stocked with food and such so there wasn’t a need for us to go shopping.

Once the coffee is brewing, I get started on making a simple breakfast of bacon and eggs. I’m not sure what Oliver has planned for us today but I’m looking forward to the surprise. There’s a rehearsal dinner tonight for the wedding and after what happened last night, I’m not sure I want to go. The last thing Oliver needs is for Jake to say something similar in front of family and friends. That would be the worst embarrassment of my life and I can’t do that to Oliver.

No, I think I’ll stay in and avoid further conflict. After the dinner tonight, the only thing left is to get through the ceremony tomorrow. I know Jake won’t make a scene at his own wedding unless he wants Garrett to leave him at the altar. Although, for Garrett’s sake, it would probably be a good idea. After everything that happened last night, combined with what’s been going on for weeks, I’m not sure what Garrett sees in the guy. What can I say though? Love is blind.

Oliver stirs on the couch and I can’t help noticing how adorable he looks when just waking up. He stretches and pads into the kitchen to fix himself a cup of coffee. Once he’s taken a sip, he kisses my cheek and says, “Good morning.”

“Morning. Breakfast is almost ready so have a seat.”

He nods and sits at the table. “It smells amazing.”

I laugh and say, “It’s only bacon and eggs, nothing spectacular.
