For fourth grade we chose to have them in the same class for no other reason than the teacherâshe was highly recommended. (A few parents I interviewed also put their multiples in the same class at one time based on a teacherâs positive reputation.) And yes, life is now easierâthey can study for tests together, help each other if one gets stuck on a homework problem, and I donât have to split my time volunteering for both their classrooms. And yes, theyâre both enjoying the experience very much (they are best friends, after all). They seem very relaxed with each other in the same classroom. According to their teacher, thereâs no rivalry between the two. Yet now weâre dealing with other issues. Although we have a âno tattleâ rule, it took only five days of school for someone to break it. Obviously, itâs one twin challenge that we need to work on. And once again, just as in preschool, nearly every day thereâs a fight to see who can get to me first to tell me all about the dayâs events.
From One Parent to Another
âAmber and Cortney (DZSSf) were in the same class until third grade when Cortney decided she wanted them to be in different classes. I think it actually helped them since before they were together all the time. They were together from the morning when I dropped them off to when I picked them up from the extended learning program at night. It was a lot of togethernessâtheyâd end up arguing and bickering. I noticed that when they were in different classes, they were very nice to each other since they had a lot more to talk about.â
