Mithril Dagger / (Creator: Ardein Warf)
Quality: B / Value: 150000 Dells
A dagger with a high percentage of mithril in it. Primarily used for rituals and decorative purposes. However, it has high magic conductivity, making it great for mages.
Interesting. It wasnât only high in quality, but it even had a practical use. I thought it mightâve been too flashy for Ariyaâs tastes, but maybe not. Perhaps the apple didnât fall too far from the tree. Just like her mother and sister, Ariya may have also had a great love for all things shiny and flashy. That would explain why she was still wearing the flashy dress armor Iâd made for her.
âYou want it, Ari?â
âHuh? N-No.â Snapping out of her thoughts, Ariya jumped a little at my question. She shook her head and put the dagger down.
âI donât mind buying it for you.â Having a dagger with a high amount of mithril in it wasnât bad. Because of the impossibility of making pure mithril items, it was difficult for me to use Armament Craft to make anything like it. With that in mind, I decided to buy both the dagger and gun. Ariya looked like she wanted to say something at this point, but I chose to ignore her.
âThanks...â said the unenthusiastic clerk after Iâd made my purchase.
The price of the items, especially the mithril dagger, was a little inflated, but I had more than enough money to pay for them. For the record, I was in charge of our finances. Half of the requests that Ariya accepted were completed by me, and half of the monster parts she sold were from my night hunts too. To be clear, though, I was not her pimp. She merely served me, so of course I was the one who took care of the money. I wasnât a miser, but I wasnât one to be wasteful either.
âUm...â Just as we were about to leave, the clerk called out to us. It was almost a whisper, so I couldâve just pretended not to hear it, but I decided to humor him.
âWhat?â
âAre you and Black Rose really in that kind of relationship?â
This wasnât the kind of question a clerk should ask his customer, but I decided to let that slide. I also wasnât sure exactly what kind of relationship he meant. Luckily, I had Ariya to give me the answer to my question.
âA man giving a woman a mithril dagger is used in novels as a symbol for proposal. It means, âif you donât feel the same way, then stab me.ââ
So, by âpropose,â she meant like how weâd propose with a ring in our world? Huh. Stabbing, though...? Isnât that kinda excessive? I hadnât read about this in any of the books Iâd memorized with Photographic Memory, but then again, I hadnât really read any novels. Maybe I should have, since they wouldâve given me a better understanding of this worldâs culture. Well, that aside, how was I supposed to deal with this situation?
âSorry, Iâm kind of a country bumpkin.
