I open my eyes as soon as I hear the soft click of my bedroom door as Adam shuts it behind him. The tenderness of Adam’s kiss on my back plus the anguish and sadness I heard in his goodbye cuts me deeply; I hate myself for hurting him.

Adam sliding out from under my arm woke me, yet I laid there like a coward and feigned sleep in order to avoid any awkwardness. I laid here listening to the sounds of Adam in my shower, imagining how he looked wet and naked standing beneath the shower head. Was he using my body wash? Will it make him hard when he smells it on his skin later?
