Collect Client Testimonials

You can also use your USP as a template for clients to give you their own powerful testimonials in the form of a story. When you’re looking for your referrals and client testimonials, simply ask your clients: “Did I provide this benefit for you? Did I solve this problem for you? How did you feel afterward?” Once you have those answers, you can craft a powerful client testimonial or client success stories (see the next section for more about client success stories).

Based on its answers to the USP questions above, our IT services company might ask its clients, “Did we help you feel confident you were staying HIPAA compliant? Did we solve your problem of worrying about data loss or security breaches? How did you feel afterward?”

These are just a few examples of how your USP can provide the basis for virtually any version of your marketing message.
