Chapter 6

“Please?” He really doesn’t mean to make that little sigh, but it just comes out, and it’s answered by a gulp from the bigger wolf.

Skye’s feeling that weird thrumming vibration in his chest again. The same one he got when he was kissing and holding Liam down. Like he’s powerful.

Won’t let this go that far, but he’s got to play to his advantage. Can’t let Liam take control away from him again.

Tongues the pad of Liam’s index finger. It’s rough, but mostly tasteless. Not bad at all. Then he proceeds to eat the cookie, because it looked like Liam was about to say something and this shuts him up. Makes sure he licks his lips when he’s finished with the bite. Lets Liam see his tongue before taking another.

For the final morsel, Skye sucks Liam’s fingers into his mouth, looking at the alpha all the while. Takes the cookie with his tongue and sucks the fingers clean of milk as he drags them out. Smacks his lips and munches.

Liam doesn’t take his hand back. Doesn’t say anything. Barely blinks.

So Skye can assume for the moment he is utterly in control. Feels his shoulders settling back and his head growing taller with confidence. He likes not feeling small. Nothing does it better than making Liam, a giant of an alpha, his mere plaything. It’s temporary, but he likes the illusion. So different from the rest of his life.

Reveling in being the bigger wolf, Skye reaches across the table to grab Liam by the hair and pull him in for a kiss. Someone did this to him once, and laughed about it cruelly afterward. But Skye doesn’t mean it cruel like that. He takes his time and does it gently, like he’s learned from Liam, and finds himself having to damper his own surge of male instincts telling him to take what he wants.

It’s a novel sensation for him. Usually he’s so meek. Likes being powerful for once, but he’s not going to go crazy with it. Keeps his probing civil and polite. Takes Liam’s hand too, and stands up to get a better angle over the kiss, bending over the table. Now he really does feel taller, and it heightens the urge to growl and bite and hold Liam down for the taking.

He has to do that in his own way, not the usual way. Currently, that means poking his ass higher in the air than necessary and making a little sound he knows his alpha likes to hear. That wasn’t in the magazine, but he’s making his own list of seductive tricks.

They must be working. Liam eyelids are drooping, his breath heavy between their lips and tongues pressing against each other. Liam tastes like Oreos and salt.

He makes that little sigh again. Puts a pleading little moan on the end of it.

“Please?”

Then, a flash of brilliance. His lips squirm with the effort to keep a gleeful smile from ruining his seductive act.

Kisses Liam’s jaw to his ear and whispers, “There’s another way you can find out what I like.
