PADME AMIDALA Padmé and Anakin are secretly married, despite the fact that romantic love is forbidden by the Jedi code. They now await the birth of a child, but Anakin is haunted by nightmares in which both his wife and child perish. PALPATINE/DARTH SIDIOUS The Supreme Chancellor Palpatine is in fact Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith for whom the Jedi council has been searching. At the right moment he will reveal his true nature to the world and declare himself Emperor.
