CHAPTER 15

~ Rampage ~

I had Lisa blowing my phone up trying to see if I found the people responsible for JD’s death. It turned out Lingo got snatched up by the feds, who held him in an interrogation room for 48 hours without any communication. The gun he had on him was dirty, and they hung a murder over his head, trying to get him to spill the beans on the rest of the camp. He stayed solid. I had his mother and big sister blowing my phone up trying to see if I was going to get him a lawyer that could get him out. Quay’s big sister, Monique, was knocking on my door. I told Jasmine to let her in.

She came in with Quay on her heels.

“I tried to tell her I was gone pay her back.” He said before she could get a word out.

“I need $1,500, Rampage. I just bonded this lil’ nigga out for some shit he did for you.” Monique spat while standing in front of me and blocking my view of the television.

“Man, you know it ain’t no pressure on no money, but gotdamn, Quay. You couldn’t clear $1,500? You in violation nigga. You a Mafioso. You supposed to keep at least $25,000 tucked somewhere.”

He averted eye contact because he knew he was in the wrong. Ain’t no way his sister was supposed to be standing in my living room, interrupting the little peace time that I did get to enjoy.

“In between my kids, my family, clothes, and jewelry, it didn’t leave me with much. And the little $8,000 that I did have on me, they took, bro.”

I reached in my Gucci bag and pulled out $2,000 for Monique. “Here. You like family, so I ain’t gon’ trip about you pushing up in here like you did, but don’t ever do that again. All you had to do was send word, and you know I would’ve straightened that little shit.”

She nodded her head. “My bad, lil’ bro. These damn kids and they daddy just got me so frustrated, and then this lil’ nigga call me telling me to bond him out. I’m just stressed out, man.”

“I know the feeling. If you ever need something, just let me know.”

“Thank you.”

“This my hood. That’s what I’m here for.”

She walked out, and Quay tried to follow her, but I stopped him in his tracks. “Come here, Quay. I got to talk to you.”

Monique chuckled and waved at him before leaving. He stopped in his tracks and walked back over toward me.

“Sit down, nigga.”

He sat down on the couch next to me. “I’m gone pay you back, bro. Every penny.”

“No shit. I already know that. That’s not what I called you back for.”

He slanted his already slanted eyes even more. “What’s up then? Talk to me.”

“I need you to go send a message for me. Go take this money to Lingo’s people for his lawyer. Then, I need you to pull up on Handsome. Tell that nigga
