8 I really don’t know what he meant by that! “Her dung and urine check epidemics like plague and cholera. The urine of the cow is useful in heart diseases. Cow dung is used as manure. Clarified butter as ghee.”

9 Is he serious? Is this a meaningful defense?

Krishna: Can you not see the point Prabhupada is making? He is saying that the cow sustains life for us. Without the cow, who among us would live?

Jesus: This gradually moves to the heart of our differences, Krishna. You and your followers have confused the ends with the means.

It’s not the cow alone that is responsible for the milk she gives. What about the farmer who plants the grain the cow eats and milks the cow? Without the farmer, there would be no one to milk the cow. And who made the farmer? Who made the cow? Who caused the grain to grow and gave the farmer the strength to harvest the grain and milk the cow? Do you think the cow has made a conscious decision to produce milk so that you can live? Isn’t it the Lord of creation who merits your worship, rather than the cow He has made?

To feed the cow, to care for it—that’s all good. I have said in my Word: Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading the grain.
