Valen’s act of crippling Dominion and then our broadcasted engagement breaks everything open.

Wars break out across the galaxy within hours. Those planets who have been taxed and burdened by Dominion’s presence start fighting back.

According to Arden Black, no less than seven planets across the galaxy are in all out rebellion.

Other Neron-free planets are going to the aide of their enslaved neighbors.

It takes us hours to figure out communication with Commander 12-3. She updates us, telling us that Dominion is fraying. Everyone is panicking. The armies stationed throughout the galaxy are in the dark. No one knows what’s going on and all trade is halted.

This is huge. Massive.

This is a triumph.

And things start happening faster than we can handle.

Within twelve hours, we gain seven new ships and twenty-eight soldiers. And every twelve hours after that, we keep gaining about that same amount.

In the thirtieth hour, we’re hailed by a new ship. The voice that comes through makes me cry, and I immediately run for the Airspace.

A battered, old, clunky ship lands on the ground. I don’t know how it’s even still running. They took such a risk in that death can, traveling through space to get here.

The hatch lowers, and I smile like an idiot as two figures walk down to the ground level.

“Look at you, revolutionizing the galaxy.” Reena’s calm, elegant voice sounds exactly as I remember it.

I close the distance between us and wrap my arms around her. She hesitates. Reena is cool and controlled. But eventually she pats my back before stepping away.

“It’s good to see you again, Nova.” My eyes slide to Kyril, and my heart warms. He does hug me in return, and I marvel at how natural and easy this is. He’s such a naturally calm and kind person. Such a perfect teacher.

“Thank you for coming,” I say, wiping away the stray tear that breaks free.

“What can we do to help?” Kyril says, and even with those kind eyes, I see the fight he’s ready for.
