About the regimentâs clothing issued, Ian Smith comments that:
âClearly the regiment in summer 1814 had no carbines. It also seems to have retained black gaiters for foot duties, along with shoes. Unfortunately, nothing exists for 1815, so we only have the 6 August 1814 inspection review to give us an insight into what the regiment looked like in the Hundred Days. The stores were completely empty of cloth, lace and other materials, although there were good quantities of uniform items in the magazines, ready for immediate issue.â
It would appear that this regiment made use of its stockpiles of cloth, etc, in the 1813-4 campaigns.
Hence, in August 1814, they have ready for immediate issue:
