LDP Authentication

In addition to the IGP authentication, all LDP sessions should be enabled for MD5 authentication. This includes CsC environments in which the PE router is providing the upstream CE router with labels for IGP routes in the VPN.

MD5 authentication is only supported with LDP. In environments that are using TDP globally, LDP can be enabled on a per-circuit basis if authentication is required. Once again, the configuration is straightforward, as Example 5-10 for the Washington P router shows.
