MEDITATION

The best solution to mental or emotional stress is meditation. This is no longer a woo-woo fad; it is becoming mainstream and essential for stressed-out people from all walks of life. There is now abundant research that shows how beneficial meditation is for your brain. It literally changes the structure of the brain, from deeper folds of the surface correlated with intelligence, to a thicker corpus callosum, which connects the left and right brain. You will have both logical and creative problem-solving skills. Meditation also leads to a significantly reduced level of stress hormones and inflammation. The result is calm focus, emotional stability, empathy with others, and improved relationships.

Of course, meditation has a positive impact on your mitochondria. Coupled with breath work, the boost is even greater. How does meditation affect the rest of the body? Probably through the mitochondria since they are present in all body systems. They sense the environment around them whether physical or emotional and tailor their energy production accordingly. The calming effect of meditation can thereby increase energy production.

Personally, meditation is best combined with spiritual mindfulness and connection to God or the divine. I visualize being connected to God by light which travels through me and returns back to Him with each breath. In this light are love, abundance, and health down to the mitochondrial level. It’s as if the entire body is recharged by this divine energy. You can visualize areas of pain disappearing as you push the energy to that area. Use this time to manifest the life and health you want to have. Just fifteen minutes first thing in the morning sets the tone for the whole day instead of letting your emails dictate your day!
