Chapter Seventeen
Rain and her Purple Gang arrived at the jewelry store driving a stolen Buick Verano. Rain, Memphis, and Chris Toney got out and pulled down their masks as they approached the door of the jewelry store. The guard saw them come in and started to reach for his gun, but Chris Toney stepped to him and pressed the barrel of his gun into the security guard’s forehead. The security guard moved his hand away from his gun. Memphis pulled out his gun, took the gun from the security guard, and quickly removed the clip.
“Everybody down!” Rain yelled, standing with her arms spread eagle and a gun in each hand. The customers and store employees looked at the three masked bandits and got down on the floor.
Chris Toney and Memphis immediately took out large cloth bags. Memphis moved to the first targeted case, which was filled with gold and diamond-studded bracelets. Chris Toney knew exactly which pieces they were interested in taking. With the butt of his gun, Memphis broke the glass. He picked up the designated pieces and placed them in the bag before moving on to the next case. Chris Toney moved to the necklace case. Once the glass was broken, he removed the designated pieces and put them in his bag. The watches were next.
Chris Toney broke the display glass and quickly removed Rolexes and other expensive watches, then placed them in the bag. Memphis moved to the display case that contained diamond rings. He broke the glass, reached in and began to remove the designated rings, dropping them in the bag.
Outside the store a 500 Benz was parked. One man got out of the Benz and looked around before he walked around to the other side. The man opened the rear door on the car’s passenger side and held it open, while his employer got out. He was a stout man with a bald head and a thick mustache, wearing an expensive suit. He had a suitcase handcuffed to his waist.
As the man and his boss entered the store, Chris Toney put his foot in the man’s back and kicked him to the floor. Rain put her gun to the head of the bald man and eased the gun from his waist.
“Don’t move,” she said as Chris Toney moved quickly to disarm the man. “What’s in the case?” Rain asked.
“If you know what’s good for you, you will take those jewels and forget you ever saw me or this case,” the bald man said with a very heavy Russian accent.
Rain leaned closer and spoke in his ear. “Now I know I gotta have it,” she said. “Memphis, get over here and put a gun to his head. If he moves kill him.”
Rain grabbed the case with one hand and pointed her gun at the chain. She fired once at the chain, separating the bald man from the case.
Let’s get the fuck out of here,” Rain said, and she, Chris Toney, and Memphis exited the jewelry store. On the way out of the store, Memphis shot the bald Russian.
