Automating Data Analysis

Data analysis is all about finding useful connections between different pieces of data in a dataset. For example, analysis of your company’s records of customer service calls might discover that an unusually high number of calls has to do with a particular product. This insight might be useful to the engineers working on that product.

Some insights that can be found in data are less useful, even though they may demonstrate strong relationships. For example, “discovering” that customer satisfaction with service calls is higher for calls where the customer’s problem was resolved would not be a particularly interesting insight.

Discovering insights into data, as with all Copilot uses, starts by asking a good question. For example, you might say, “I wonder if there’s a certain day of the week when we get more calls than on other days.”
