Through the practice of meditation, the brain becomes entrained to watch thoughts as they pass without attaching additional thoughts or judgments to those thoughts. This brain entrainment aids entrepreneurs by helping them to avoid getting pulled into distracting activities and situations.
Someone who practices meditation regularly may have thoughts like, “I should check my email,” or “I should see what’s happening on Facebook” or, “I can put this task off until tomorrow,” just like everyone does. However, the focused practice of meditation teaches the practitioner that you don’t always need to take action on fleeting thoughts. In these cases, it’s more productive to let the thoughts pass by rather than taking action on them.
