BECOMING A MEDICAL INTUITIVE

As Edgar Cayce often mentioned, all of us are intuitive. Cayce happened to have a broad ability to use his intuition. He also emphasized that we can develop our intuitive ability. To a significant extent, intuition is just an expansion of our imagination in which images that we “receive” or create become increasingly more accurate. From a quantum physics point of view, there is no time and everything is connected. Ultimately, optimal intuition is the experience of spontaneously “knowing” some aspect of the work without having direct physical knowledge of it. Medical intuition is, of course, a more specific term because, to be useful from a medical point of view, it requires that you know the physical location of a medically diagnosable problem as well as at least the physiological (electrical/chemical) “cause” of the problem. As you will see at the end of this chapter, this requires very specific intuition.

Over the past twenty years, I have received numerous letters from individuals who write, “I am another Caroline Myss.” Well, I haven't met one yet. In years gone by, I occasionally would write back to such a person and say that I would give them three names, and if they were at least 50 percent accurate on those three, I would examine them further. Not having found even one who was close to 50 percent accurate, I gave up that practice long ago. Perhaps the most ridiculous such person wrote that she actually worked as a “Medical Intuitive.” So I gave her my name and birth date and asked her to do a reading. She responded with three pages of nonsense. Not one sentence was actually correct, and on the last page, she wrote, “And on your left calf there is an area the size of a dime that is weeping.” She apparently thought that was from the loss of a sibling when I was about nine years of age. First of all, I didn't lose a sibling at age nine, and secondly, I looked down to make sure I had not wet myself. I then wrote back and said, “Please take down your shingle, burn, it and bury the ashes, because you are a danger to the human race.” Obviously, I never heard from her again. Eventually, Caroline Myss and I established over ten years ago a training course for individuals interested in becoming medically intuitive and then established the American Board of Scientific Medical Intuition, to provide board certification to those individuals who were capable of passing the exam. The exam consists of forty patient names, with ages or birth dates, and to be board certified, an individual has to have an accuracy score of 75 percent. Very few people put the work in to become that. On the other hand, with adequate training, almost anyone can become a counseling intuitive, and there are dozens of techniques that assist individuals in using this particular skill. I have actually often said that almost everyone is a phenomenal counselor to anyone except themselves.
