With Google AdWords, you create a campaign, such as an offer, and then decide whether you want to have it show up as text in search listings, a display ad, such as a banner on the top of the page, a video ad on YouTube, or an app ad, which runs across the entire Google network. You then choose the following:

Geographical area, or target searchers in a given area.

Radius, or target searchers within a certain radius of your place of business.

Which search terms you want to bid on so your ad gets top visibility.

Your budget. You may pay $30 a day to have your ad get top billing for browsers in your area searching the terms you bid on. You pay only for actual clicks so AdWords sends you only as many as your budget allows.
