“Yo-yo!” Timir said, leaping out of the covers to nuzzle it.

“Thank you, Mom.” Luma grinned.

“Good night, my love,” Mom said, bending down to hug Luma. “And good night, Timir.” She kissed Timir on his fluffy head.

It took a little while for Luma and Timir to settle down after that. Luma couldn’t stop hugging her bunny and Timir had leaped off the bed once Mom had left, excited to play with his yo-yo.

Finally, though, as they both began to yawn, Timir climbed up and cuddled next to Luma.

“What a day,” Luma said.

Timir snuffled. “I never want the hiccups ever again.”

“But now you have your flame,” Luma said.

“Yes,” Timir said.

And then he turned onto his back, opened his mouth, and blew softly.

Purple flame danced across the ceiling, twinkling and glimmering, like a starry night sky.

Luma smiled, her eyes blinking and blinking, until she fell asleep.
