Everything good? I ask.

He doesn’t answer right away, and I assume that he’s still in the air. Then as I open the door, my phone buzzes in my pocket. Lada is out of the car and already in the house by the time I fish my phone out of my pocket and check the new message.

NIKITA: ALL GOOD.

Slipping my phone back into my pocket, I smile to myself. Life. Fuck me, it has a funny way of working out. I thought that I’d lost Lada forever. Thought that I had lost the opportunity to be a father to our child. Thought that I would never find happiness, and then I took charge, I took control and now I have hope again.

Making my way into the house, I look for Lada. She isn’t anywhere that I can see. Making my way farther into the space, I let out a sigh when I find her. She’s standing with her back to me, looking out at the dark backyard. She can’t actually see anything. There are no lights turned on and it’s well past midnight.

Slowly, I approach her. I can tell that she is still on edge. She’s still not sure of what is going to happen. She hasn’t made a decision yet, internally, but it doesn’t really matter because she’s having my baby, which means that she’s mine.

Bratva rules are not like the rest of the free world. We have our own set of laws and rules. She’ll do whatever the fuck I want her to do, because that’s just the way it goddamn is. Pressing my front against her back, I lift my arms and wrap my hands around her waist, holding her steady as I dip my chin and touch my lips to the side of her neck.

“Zolotse,” I exhale. “Welcome home.”

She lets out a sigh, but I can tell that she wants to say something else. I don’t let her. It’s going to be some bullshit about not being enough or whatever it is she’s got floating around in her pretty head. I don’t want to hear anything out of her other than my fucking name on a sexy whisper.

Gliding my hands to her belly, I slide one down to the hem of her skirt and the other I wrap around the front of her throat. Kissing up her neck, I press my mouth against the shell of her ear.

“Take your panties off. I’m going to fuck you right here.”

It’s a demand and not so much a request. I’ve been inside of her a total of once in the past several months. I need her. She’s here with me, finally, and we can be free to have one another. To start our lives together, truly start our lives.

She shimmies in front of me, and as soon as her panties are gone, I slip my hand between her legs. She lets out a whimpered sigh as I slide my fingers through her folds, feeling her beneath my touch.

Lada turns her head, her lips grazing the underside of my jaw, then she lets out a sigh.
