“Rice Krispie Treats. Love ‘em.” Grant answered, eyes twinkling.

“Buy ‘em or make ‘em?”

“Buy ‘em, but I’d love to make some.”

“We can do that.” Jamie smiled at him, totally enjoying himself.

“Yours?” Grant asked.

“Nacho Cheese Doritos. Man, if I were ever stranded on a desert island and could only have one food, no contest, gotta have ‘em.”

“You’re a nut.”

“Yeah, I am. But this is fun, let’s continue playing while we get supper going. Wanna? I’ve got steaks, fries to bake in the oven, and stuff for a salad.”

“Sounds fabulous. How can I help?”

“I can set you up in the kitchen with the veggies for the salad. I’ll get the grill going and take care of the steaks. The fries can take care of themselves in the oven. We’ll eat out here. We’re good to go.”

“Do we have dessert?” Grant asked.

“Nope, but we obviously have a sweet tooth,” he teased. “I thought maybe we’d go for a short drive and get some ice cream later. Favourite flavour?” Jamie asked, holding open the door for Grant to go in.

“Rocky Road.” Quick answer.

“Pralines and Cream,” Jamie replied.

“Apples or oranges?” Grant asked.

“Oranges.”

“Yep.”

“Cake or pie?” Jamie asked, reaching to take out the veggies from the bottom drawer of the fridge. He turned to find Grant enjoying the view. He smiled and pointed his finger at Grant.

“Caught ya lookin’,” he said, sliding his haul on the table. He turned to get a cutting board, knife and two big bowls, one for garbage, and one for the salad.

“Busted…and cobbler, any kind of fruit cobbler. Mmm.” There was a look of ecstasy on Grant’s face.
