You’re only a kind person

if you’re kind to yourself too

otherwise you’ve fallen

into the people-pleasing trap

and that will break your spirit

Kindness starts at home

and home starts with you

and you deserve that kindness

as much as any other.

Do not throw your kindness

out into this world

without gifting a little of it your way.

There is a little version of you

who waits deep inside

hoping for it

thirsty for that kindness.

And they cannot accept it from others

until they feel worthy enough

and worthy starts at home too

worthy starts with you.

You’re only a kind person

if you’re kind to yourself too.

Be kind to yourself too.
