Panzram’s official death certificate, signed by U.S. Public Health Service representative Dr. Justin Fuller, lists the cause of death as “dislocation of the cervical vertebrae and strangulation.” Panzram’s body was removed from the institution and is in an unmarked grave in the prison’s cemetery, aptly named Peckerwood Hill.³⁵
