Lloyd: The main problem for me looking from the outside in, in terms of La Mama’s future, is, increasingly, the demand for the La Mama space is totally out there and going further out there.

Caitlin: There are hundreds of scripts coming in. Which is just growing by the year, and so it becomes a more selective process … it doesn’t mean elite selection—

Lloyd: And so on and so forth—fucking bloody progress is going to fuck the world up more than it is, and probably La Mama will catch one of those diseases one day. I won’t be here.

Laughter.

You’re all going to present something for the La Mama fiftieth-anniversary season. How do you feel about that prospect of coming back and doing something for two nights?

Patricia: I think it’s attractive.

Laughter and agreement.

Patricia: I’ve got no idea, I’ve got no answer about what I’m going to do; I just go, ‘Oh fuck!’

More laughter.

Barry: Whether it’s two nights or no nights, it’s alive—

Jill: It’s so exciting.
