Shaping the Toe

Round 1: With MC, K36

Place a marker indicating the halfway point, and continue knitting to 3 stitches before the end of the round, K2tog, K1, slip marker.

You now have 71 sts

Round 2: K1, ssk, knit to 3 stitches before the halfway marker, K2tog, K1, slip marker, K1, ssk, knit to the end of the round.

You now have 68 sts

Round 3: Knit to 3 stitches before the end of the round, K2tog, K1.

You now have 67 sts

Next Rounds: Repeat rounds 2 and 3 6 times

Last Round: Repeat round 2. You now have 40 sts

Cut yarn, leaving a 36" tail.

Divide stitches equally, sliding half of the stitches to each end of the circular needles. Graft the toe with Kitchener stitch.
