Further criticism was heaped on his campaign as people found more than just similarities between his speeches and several passages from the famous political figures Hubert Humphrey and Robert F. Kennedy.
This was the second time when Biden suffered severe repercussions because he failed to cite a source, though this instance went well beyond just plagiarism. It appeared that he had started to exaggerate and lie about his own experiences. It is challenging to understand why he would invent false personal difficulties when he actually has experienced so much personal tragedy and loss and overcome it in such a very public way.
