Registering a VariableResolver or PropertyResolver

A custom VariableResolver or PropertyResolver may be registered declaratively in the faces-config.xml file using the variable-resolver and property-resolver XML elements, or dynamically at runtime using the setVariableResolver( ) or setPropertyResolver( ) methods on Application. The declarative registration is most common and recommended. Both variable-resolver and property-resolver elements are children of the application element in the faces-config.xml file. These elements both must contain the fully qualified Java class name of the implementation class for your VariableResolver or PropertyResolver, respectively. See Chapter 18 for the faces-config.xml syntax for registering a VariableResolver.

Overriding PropertyResolver is much the same as that just shown, but it is less common to do so in practice. As such, this feature is not documented further here.
