SQL databases—like SQLite—support operations called transactions. Briefly, a transaction is a series of operations (e.g., adding Arthur and Lancelot rows to the allowed tables) that are grouped together in an all-or-nothing fashion. If an error occurs while the transaction is running (for example, your computer is suddenly shut down or the database raises an error because the input is invalid), the whole transaction aborts and any of the partially completed changes are rolled back. If nothing goes wrong, however, the transaction is committed and all the changes stick.
