Apart from the notorious Full Moon Party, Ko Phangan has plenty of other regular weekly and monthly party nights to keep the backpackers bouncing. Those who like commercial dance music will have to make do with a mix of trance, techno and drum ‘n’ bass, the music of choice at the island’s main nightspots. The so-called Half Moon parties shape up twice a month, a week before and after full moon, held at a hypnotically lit outdoor venue in Ban Tai.
