Prayer

I’m not a big proponent for using the word “prayer.” It’s like using the word “God” in that it has so many connotations, meaning vastly different things to different people. I dislike the term because it usually implies that the one doing the praying is powerless and beholden to powers, or to a god—outside themselves—who picks and chooses whom he will help and when. But I love prayer’s implication that we are not alone and that we are being heard. You are heard by this very same Universe, by every atom and molecule, and by every entity that could possibly render you assistance. Whether you’re thinking, speaking, or living, the Universe takes note, sees your true intentions, follows your actions, and knows all. You’re never alone.
